Hi Ken,
I've never had to deal with bandicoots, but I would try planting the edge with dog bane (Plectranthus ornatus) which is a pretty succulent plant with a really strong smell, this works on some dogs. Alternatively plant densely with bunching onion (Allium fistulosum) or garlic chives (Allium tuberosum), these will often deter rabbits. I know of someone else who had success with deterring rabbits using densely planted rocket (Eruca sativa). Finally you might want to try citronella pellets that are sold in some big hardware stores to deter dogs, or just ammonia in shallow dishes (sometimes works with cats). Hope this helps and I would love to know if any of these work,
cheers Penny
